Inserting a USB device should, by default, cause it to be mounted. Same
with an SD or MMC card.
(Or, if an Ethernet device is inserted, ifup it; etc. Try to use it!)
Also, there should be some GUI activity, i.e. "Hi, I see it! Want to use
it? Want to know what name I mounted it under?"
There also needs to be a way for the user to tell the GUI "I am about to
pull out that
USB device / SD card".
There are plenty of dbus messages about the insertion, so it must be that
nobody is listening for it. Log of dbus messages attached.
