 If the frame is defined as an X Window, then you may be able to leverage
 the "confine to" semantics in X to keep the cursor in the area, at least
 for a time.

 But it's been a while since I delved in depth to the corners of the X
 protocol; it's mostly the existence of things that stick, rather than
 remembering the details well enough to know if the facility can be used to
 solve the particular problem.
