Comment:

 Dunno why this ended up on Ivan's list.

 Chris, the tamtam folks have problems due to scheduling.

 I can think of a number of possible solutions (there may be RT calls we
 can make, a root helper to jack the priority of their app a bit, and so
 on).  In the long term, fixing the X server to not busy wait would also
 probably fix this, but we can't wait for that.

 Could you come chat with me about what options make sense to you?
