 > I don't think swfdec is an option at this time, it's primarily oriented
towards YouTube video, and not towards web navigation with Flash, and
other more generic usages of Flash as a browser plugin. The Adobe player,
is of course, very far from "free software". Implementing streaming video
is our primary focus as well right now, (ala YouTube) and will be working
 in the next Gnash release.

to the right directory. I can write a shell script, simple program, or
whatever is decided to switch Flash plugins, but Gnash is the only Flash
player with it's own funding an development team, and will be getting
 better with time.

Gnash package in the 303 build, sound doesn't seem to be working. I play
many more modern Flash movies, and haven't had any problems other than
performance. Some movies just load very slowly, but I think unusable isn't
 accurate.

Using SDL_Mixer and libMAD, has sound working fine with Gnash. We do
have streaming video working, YouTube included. The hangup currently is
fixing all the obscure behaviors of the ActionScript code they use. We
feel we're very close to having this fully working, and the streaming
support will be in the next Gnash release, which will be out before the
 main OLPC shipment in July.
