Comment (by cjb):

 Reproduced again during a 'yum update'.  The left-hand wireless LED is
 blinking constantly, and dmesg says:

    usb8xxx: command_timer_fn fired (6)
    usb8xxx: command_timer_fn fired (6)
    usb8xxx: URB in failure status
    usb8xxx: command_timer_fn fired (6)

 The XO's sitting on my desk; I'll leave it in the same state overnight in
 case someone wants to debug it tomorrow.
