And what would you plan to do with this if implemented?
Without some plausible need, why should we bother? What do you have in
mind?
You need to "make the case".
And it is far from clear to me that this is wise: the useful information
in the SPI flash should be brought out to /sys kinds of places, so that in
future generations, applications written depending on information in the
flash do not break.
