For B3, the thermometer should be placed on the motherboard in a place
where from the reading the ambient temperature outside the laptop can be
approximated. The GX2 runs about 30C+ of ambient when full on, and
perhaps that is a way to extract ambient.
Why I care
1) battery charging rituals change at high temps - and damage NiMH at 45C.
2) the LED lightbar liftime is affected - at high temps, the current in
the led lightbar that illuminates the LCD from behind can be turned down.
if we know it's hot. Thus the lightbar can achieve a 5 year lifeitme.
