 Before someone makes a big noise about it, I picked Bazaar because:

 * it came highly recommended;
 * it is written in Python;
 * its smart server will make it easy to plug into the communication
 manager;
 * it will soon have a "history horizon" feature, which is very desirable
 given space constraints;
 * it stores version data as deltas, which is more space efficient than
 git's method of storing blobs.
