Hmmmm...
One other failure mode I've suffered personally more than once is
corruption (truncation) of the NAND image, while failing to check the
checksum before attempting an install (which lazy folks like me and most
of the world will do with dismaying regularity).
Common failure modes include:
o download failure before putting the image on the key
o filling the USB key
I'm wondering strongly that as our user base grows, we hadn't better do
some checking of a checksum on the Nand image to be installed, if only to
avoid these classes of failures and consequent bug reports. Some self
defense to reduce bug reports and end luser problems I suspect is in
order.
Putting this on Lilian's list makes the most sense to me.
This may or may not have anything at all to do with the original report,
of course.
