Comment:

 I think our thoughts have been that getting any "standard" stylus through
 any supply chain is unlikely, so it's pretty hard to predict what
 size/shape such a stylus might be; it's very likely to get lost quickly by
 a young child.  I know I've lost multiple stylus' for my pda's.

 A fingernail or gently sharpened stick of wood from what is at hand is
 suitable and most likely to be of use.

 Of course, experience might prove you right.
