#1054: News Reader won't play downloaded ogg audio file
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: gnu | Owner: jg
     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone: Untriaged
Component: new component | Keywords: news reader feed ogg audio
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
Ran News Reader, waited for it to update its feeds, waited for it to
download the first thing it chose to (LugRadio "Greasy Earring Blasters",
Mon Mar 12, 2007"), s 43MB file advertised in Ogg. It gave % progress
reports on the download (and wouldn't let me start playing the file until
the whole thing was there). When it arrived, the entry changed to include
an "Open" link, but that didn't play the file. I noticed a ">", a play
symbol in a circle, at the top of the window, so I tried pressing that
too. It produced a pop-up error message (in a window annotated with a
 tiny font):

 (tiny) Unknown file type
(big) Gstreamer did not recognize this file. (email owen-olpc at ywwg.com
 for more info)
 (big)
 OK?

Methinks there should be some obvious way to play audio files if this tool
is going to spend the bandwidth to download them on speculation.
