Comment:

 I came to know of this from a conf. call with the rest of the OLPC team
 yesterday. Here is what Richard sent me. I am also attaching the rom file
 that he sent along with this message.

 Here is the firmware that Mitch and I spoke about on the conf call last
 night.

 This firmware will boot and enumerate the USB.  Then if it finds the
 wireless device its prints an OK message and powers off.

 If it does not find a wireless device it prints a "No wlan" warning
 message and then drops to a openfirmware propmt.

 To get back to a "normal" interactive boot (so you can re-flash) hold down
 the "X" key on the gamepad right after you power up.

 Like I said on the phone I've seen it go as long as 5 minutes of reboots
 before it happens so you have to cycle it a lot.
