 The pulse the EC generates is pretty fast.  Since the line is edge
 triggerd (is it really edge triggered?) all the EC does is assert the line
 and then de-assert.  I can measure the acutal pulse width when I get to
 QSMC in a few hours but its at least a few uS wide.

 I'll brew up an EC version that makes it 1mS.
