 The stap log was very useful. I see the problem in that the workqueue
 scheme changed and drivers need to tell ac97 to rearm on close. I've got a
 patch against 2.6.21 and it seems to work with basic testing. I'll prepare
 a patch against olpc-2.6 and attach it here.
