Comment (by wad):

 The amp bias voltage at power-on will be determined the next time I'm near
 a scope.  Given that the amp is powered from +5V in our case, I'm betting
 on 2.5V or so.

 The click did get better in B4 (which use the smaller coupling
 capacitors), favoring this theory.
