Comment (by Nat):

 This is more or less a feature.  When a keyboard key is pressed, the
 cursor is centered on the screen and then the x and y coordinates are used
 to affect the pitch and volume of the sound in realtime. I would be glad
 if someone could suggest a better way of doing this.
