 This is most likely the NiMH charging problem that is fixed in Q2C20.
 What's happening is that your batteries are incorrect set to 85% or 91%.
 To protect the batteries the EC will drop power when the voltage falls
 below a certain critical level.  Since the capacity is still thought to be
 >15% you don't get a red warning light.

 I think that upgrading to Q2C20 and then doing a full discharge, recharge
 cycle under Q2C20 will fix your problems.

 Please check what battery technology you have by switching to console
 mode, logging in as root and typing:

 cat /sys/class/power_supply/olpc-battery/technology

 If you have a NiMH battery it will print NiMH
