 In the current version (I'm seeing build 537), the buttons in the frame
 and title bar now bear more strong visual intensity with white filled
 look.  In the ticket #2148, the reason behind the design change was
 explained as "feel more clickable" buttons, but new buttons don't provide
 that feel.

   When you try to work on laptop, your eyes scan the screen from top to
 bottom, usually, while you think.  These high contrast buttons and tabs
 suck your attention to themselves, rather than helping the user to
 concentrate on the actual content.

   Ugliness of them is subjective, but the button with black dots in white
 circle, for example, is creepy enough to cause goose bumps to some of the
 users.
