#2557: Left pointing scroll pad activation, is stiffer than other directions on
some B4 machines

 Priority: normal | Milestone: Untriaged
Component: mechanical | Version:

------------------------+---------------------------------------------------
The scroll pad button is aligned by two details on the lower part of the
button made of a soft material. On the left pointing side, the alignment
detail is very close to the button so there is little slack. When the
button is pressed, the soft material must stretch to allow activation of
the switch below. On B4 machines, the "soft" material has a higher
durometer (hardness) than on my B2 machines. This causes some B4's to
present more resistance to pressing the left direction and results in
relatively different pressing force than the other directions. This
design is sensitive to process variation.
