 Not actually correct, xf86-input-evdev should still be configured to
 handle hotplug with current builds.

 As it works for danw, copies of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and
 /var/log/Xorg.0.log from the system after trying and failing to use these
 would be useful.

 Also, garysu, is this by any chance after a suspend?
