Comment (by danw):

OK, so the client assumes that it can ssh to the school server using the
SSH key generated at first boot (~/.sugar/default/owner.key). Somehow(?)
when it activates, it gets three pieces of information from the school
 server:

     1. the hostname of the school server
     2. the username to ssh to
     3. the path (inside that user's homedir) to back up to

In particular, whatever calls sugar.profile.set_server_registered() will
 need to also call:

     sugar.profile.set_trial2_backup('USER at HOSTNAME:PATH')

The backup script will use that info, and use rsync+ssh to do the actual
 backup.
