#2483: Mesh portal - which version will work?

 I have 20 B2s. They arrived with build 406 / Q2C11. I managed to get the
 mesh working.

 However, I wanted to experiment with later 5XX builds and upgraded the
 portal laptop to build 515 / Q2C18. With this version, the USB Ethernet
 adapter would not work with the laptop -  some diagnostics below (which I
 don't understand).

 kaweth: probe of 2-1:1.0 failed with error -5
 drivers/usb/net/kaweth.c: Failed to set Rx mode: -16

 I then downgraded it back to 406.15. The USB ethernet link is definately
 working. I can ping it and it installed the mesh portal OK. I followed the
 instructions and it all seemed to install fine, no errors. The portal is
 connected via the USB ethernet.

 However, this time the mesh is NOT working. Whereas before I could see
 that msh0 was configured and showing an SSID "olpc-mesh-1" now it does not
 show any network up.

 iwconfig responds with "no wireless extension. Warning: Driver for device
 msh0 has been complied with vserion 22 of Wireless extension, while this
 version supports up to version 20. Somethings may be broken."

 Maybe it's the firmware that I need to downgrade?

 What is the best most recent build to use to get the mesh network working
 on a B2? Can I get B2s mesh networking using any 5XX series builds?
