 Oops! I had forgotten about this...

 I am hopelessly lost - I need more help with it. I cannot figure out what
 Xfont has to do with cursors. I have a program that uses GTK to set the
 cursor, but I know no way to determine whether the cursor is in hardware
 or not. What API should I use to ask the X server to "dither down an ARGB
 cursor"?
