 Something interesting about your bug report (thanks for quoting the
 leases.dat file) is that your machine is reporting a UUID but not a serial
 number.  That's curious.  I'll double check the code paths exercised
 there.

 Contrary to your complaint, debugging failed activation is no harder than
 debugging any other early boot problem.  Pass in "init=/bin/sh" on the
 kernel command line, and you'll have an interactive shell in which you can
 investigate the problem. How do you think I debug this?  There's no crypto
 or real DRM at all involved at this point.  You're letting your anti-DRM
 reflexes get the better of you, I'm afraid.
