Comment (by gnu):

 {{{
 Could not activate this XO.
 Serial number: SHF00000000
 }}}
 is what it says. I power cycled it (with the USB still in) and it tried
 to autoinstall (didn't because up to date), booted NAND, scrolled a pile
 of kernel stuff, and went straight to here.

 I'm non-running Build 528.

 I re-power-cycled and tried more Ctrl-S tricks. Got a few more messages
 out of it.
 {{{
 Unmounting root (this will take a while, dwmw should fix)... done.
   THEN THE SCREEN CLEARS (this is a bug!)
 ********************************************************
 Activating....
 ********************************************************
 mount: Mounting /dev/mmcblk0p1 on /mnt/sd failed: No such device or
 address
 }}}

 Hmm. Now the B1 is hung after that message; ctrl-Q doesn't resume it.
 The cursor is not blinking (it's at the left margin, a solid underline).
 Typing keys doesn't cause echo. I think it's dead, Jim, probably due to
 #2260. Trying again several times leads me to believe that
 immediately after the above messages, it CLEARS THE SCREEN again, and then
 announces that it can't activate.
