 the News Reader cannot have two instances running without causing major ui
 / database sync problems.  (The database may be updated by one instance
 but the other instance won't know about it).  In the desktop version I use
 dbus to detect a running instance and then quit if one is discovered.

 Is there an API I can put in my activity.py that can tell sugar to cancel
 trying to start the second activity?
