 mostly to make sure the ebook sensor hardware works, in my book...
 Hardware freeze is upon us, and activities need to be able to rely on
 sensing that to adapt their behavior appropriately.

 And yes, having the read and web activities do this by default might be
 good behavior.

 But neither needs to happen for trial-2.

 If we have everything set for OS and activity detection of the state of
 the lid switch, push this one off to Trial-3, or file enhancement requests
 against the activities making the suggestion.
