Comment:

The fadeout is expected on B2; a miswiring of the DCON (fixed in B3/B4)
 got us.

The other B2 suspend problem is the keyboard/touchpad is on the wrong
rail. I thought, but do not know for sure, we had figured out how to get
the touchpad working again by sending a reset on resume. We'll have to
look into that (or give up on suspend/resume on existing, non-eco'ed B2's
 entirely).

Richard, Andres, is my memory correct, or incorrect about the touchpad?
cjb says the driver may have had the reset of the touchpad removed.

Even a manual suspend on B2's only would be useful during the trials; we
can't spend much time on this, but that much would be desirable. The fade
out/dcon problem isn't an issue; we're going to be turning off the screen
when you press the power button anyway.
