 Steps to reproduce:
  1. wait for some seconds until the screen dims
  2. wait some more until the screen undims by itself
  3. in this point X starts using almost 100% cpu
  4. if you press a key, X will stop using the cpu and you can go to 1
 again

 It doesn't affect user-perceived performance, as X stops using the cpu as
 soon as you touch something, but could affect background tasks (and most
 importantly battery time).
