 Using build #505, 5.110.16.p1

 disable NetworkManager, set inittab to default 3 on two XOs

 on both XOs, do:

 echo 0 > /sys/class/net/msh0/autostart_enabled
 iwconfig eth0 mode ad-hoc essid "olpc-mesh" channel 1
 iwconfig <make sure it associated>
 ifconfig msh0 169.254.1.2/16 up   <make the second XO 1.3>
 ping 169.254.1.3

 ^^^ doesn't work
