The blinking wireless LED conveys no usable information, is a distraction,
and wastes power. It is often confused with an indicator of disk or cpu
activity. (any estimates of how much power this wastes?)
We may be able to convey useful information with non-static lights; but
this isn't one of them; and if we want to convey such information, an
active and annoying light will only distract from that. If we can turn it
off, we should.
