 The device tree exports manufacturing tag information verbatim. The kernel
 munges the data by terminating it with a newline and a null-byte, in that
 order. It needs to not do this, and instead pass on the device tree
 information to userland verbatim.

 The relevant code is in fs/promfs/promfs.c:82.
