New description:

 Steps to reproduce:

 1. Start with the laptop closed.

 2. Hold the laptop base by the handle with one hand, with index finger
extended half way to the screen, so flush with the hinge.

 3. With other hand, pull LCD all the way to the upright position.

 4. Yelp in pain as the screen goes over the extended finger on the way up,
and then squashes it between screen and base as the screen becomes
 upright.

If the above is confusing, I'm happy to provide guided instructions using
 someone else's hand. :)
