 We will be supporting copy-on-write in a way that allows recovery of the
 original base filesystem (planned: without modifying userdata).  The same
 tools could support multiple checkpoints of a system, for instance on user
 request.   This would be useful for people who want to have multiple build
 on one XO, and also for users who decide to do something potentially risky
 and want to preserve a snapshot of their disk before they do -- a user-
 friendly security improvement that shouldn't trigger any AOP threads.
