Comment:

 xset is your friend.  X is supposed to turn off the screen and backlight,
 to save power, when you are idle.  We do have a different issue, which is
 getting it behaving properly and actually turning off the screen in our
 current build.

 In the longer term, you'll be able to send dbus messages to supress the
 screen saver entirely (as totem does on Linux), but that will require
 Ohm...

 When we have this, we'll start dealing with decent policy; in the
 meanwhile, use xset, or live with it...
