#846: 1.5 wish list - VGA DDC pins are useful

Jim mentioned that he was pondering adding a VGA header to the board to
run simultaneously with the panel. I told him that a VGA connector also
has the advantage of exposing the VGA_SCL and VGA_SDA lines which are
nominally used to detect the monitor settings (DDC/EDID). Those lines
are connected to standard GPIO pins (GPIO3 and GPIO4), so they are not
relegated to life as the VGA_SCL and VGA_SDA pins, in fact they can be
used like any other GPIO. In the past, on other Geode designs, people
have made dongles that connect to the VGA connector to access those pins,
and connect them to other gadgets, such as a GPIO expander.

Even if you don't want to expose a full VGA header, you should consider
some way to make those GPIO pins accessible (and perhaps the 5V_CRT as
well) so that people could use them to expand the hardware in interesting
 ways.
