 From Alan Kay:
 1. Have you thought about whether the brick is a still a good idea? A
large part of the original motivation was because of the complexity of a
hinge and what kinds of wires with what kind of drive could be run through
it. Original plan was not to have a hinge and to only run keyboard and
sensor wires. Now we have a hinge and perhaps the drive problems for
display wires are not so acute.

 2. Or ... With a nice touch display, we could take the e-reader config
that is the size of the display in 2D and as thin as possible in the other
D as the main configuration. This would argue against the current bulky
handle, and this would also want a clam-shell scheme that allocates more
weight to the keyboard part than the display (so that it stays open
 without tipping).

 3. Or ... this might argue for a scheme more like the "superPDAs" I showed
where the keyboard is very thin and simply slides into the brick.

I realize that this revisits many previous designs, but this is sometimes
 a good idea.

Right now -- using the current machine as a reference -- the biggies for
me are the better pitched 5/8"keys, a way to take pictures out and see
what you are shooting on the display, and especially a touch screen
 display.
