Comment:
Jim, Dave and I are testing the B2 touchpads in B2 hand-assembled
machines. We are seeing some of the same problems as before, but with
Mitch's new diagnostic tool we can better characterize. There are blind
spots on each touch pad when the system is running off battery
(unplugged). There is also "jumping" thta is also worse with the system
unplugged. Touching with the tip of the finger in capacitive mode is
better than touching with a larger area of the finger. etc. These are
all reminiscent of the B1 build, but the behaviour of the new touchpad and
system are much better.
We are about to try some of the same tricks that we invoked with B1 build
like connecting the touchpad to the keyboard with big wide copper tape
strip, and so forth. More to come.
