 > looking at the boot messages looks like a problem with mounting tmpfs
 directories.  I would say it was an error in flashing the disk.  Please
 try again to see what happens.

 Retrying again after re downloading the image gives exactly the same
 error.

 Tried again after reformatting the usb key and problem solved.
 Frustrating
