 we have vi and nano on the device right now.  We keep adding bytes when we
 should be taking away.  When requests like this come along it would be
 nice to get a quick memory footprint analasys.  If we want vim in place of
 vi I am fine with it but it would be nice to actually look at the package
 to see if it is pulling it things we might want to strip out.
