 I see that the LED's are hooked up to the PWM outputs of the EC but
 looking at the lines with a scope I see that they are not in PWM mode.
 Switching to a low duty cycle PWM has the potential of dropping the power
 by a lot but should not affect the brightness much.

 Of course this is long as running the PWM hardware doesn't consume more
 than the LED's do currently.
