Comment:

 Eben, why has this behavior been chosen? It seems like the completely
 wrong way to go about it, as it kills the ability to switch between
 applications by remembering where their icon is on the donut. Unless I'm
 misunderstanding, rotation means having to hunt for them in a possibly
 different place after each rotation. A shaded background or icon
 decoration look to me to be strongly preferable over this.
