 cjb says this is in current builds.

 There is other work Behdad has been doing in GTK, but is more invasive and
 not yet released and too risky for B2.

 So I'm closing this out as fixed; cjb, please open a new trac bug for gtk+
 performance with Behdad's mail attached for B3.
