 It's not going to be useless to you, since we're going to provide a
 default set of modeless keybindings -- these make vim act like any other
 modeless, "normal" editor.

 I disagree. We must ship an editor outside of the develop bundle if we're
 serious about encouraging kids to hack their machines. Walter and I
 discussed this, and came to the conclusion that vim is the only truly
 powerful editor we can provide on the system -- given space constraints
 and similar, which ruled out emacs -- while making it simple to use by
 default (via the keybindings) but allowing kids to graduate to its full
 power.
