Comment:

 Ugh...

 We clearly need support for some USB serial devices; they are way to
 common to ignore.

 But can we identify a decent subset of drivers that support a pretty wide
 selection of serial USB devices on the market?  Right now, we have no
 mechanism for just loading the one or two serial drivers for the dongles
 one happens to own, and that list is very long....
