 No, this is a poor choice. You'll lose the network connection now and
 then. Either the Linux driver is bad, or vmware does a bad emulation.

 Vmware does offer an alternative which you may set by editing the *.vmx
 file. It's an Intel gigabit card. This is faster and far more reliable.
