Comment:

 The first person who reported this issue was Michail, and his testcase is
 as follows.

 Associate and leave the machine running with no traffic over night. By the
 morning, the box has entered the "frozen mode".

 This morning we confirmed that _without_ NetworkManager running, the
 problem did not happen. So we suspect that the firmware is susceptible to
 continuous scanning in some way.
