 We need a way to replicate what a student (or teacher) has on another
 screen or projector.


 With the new Damage extension, one can easily reduce the network overhead
 to just he areas of the screen which have changed.

 There is VNC: it is quite inefficient; not only does its protocol design
 have an extra round trip that should not be necessary, it ships the entire
 screen, rather than just changed areas.  Whether VNC can be improved to
 use Damage, or whether it is terminally
 broken, I have no idea.

 There is an example implementation of a program which will grab just the
 updated parts of the screen that Keith Packard implemented (and was used
 to demo a conventional desktop application running inside a Croquet 3D
 shared world), called lightpipe.
