 Context: B-Test-1 unit QUOZL-3 serial number PCL10EN64600169 with build
 239 (old), firmware Q2B51 (old), NiMH battery discharged to capacity 48%
 during a range test earlier in the day, unit was charging battery.
 Humidity not low.

 Problem: discovered very hot battery, too hot to hold, orange LED on, EC
 provided charge state indications had stopped changing, measured
 temperature using probe on surface of battery case with cloth insulation,
 result was 47.4C,

 Analysis: symptoms similar to one of the replies in ticket #596, as if the
 EC has stopped communicating with the battery or the kernel.  Second time
 this has happened.
