Comment:

 Build joyride-1477, firmware q2d07, and I have the same issue.  Removing
 the executable bit from /etc/rc.d/init.d/NetworkManager* allows me to
 manually associate via iwconfig and dhclient.  If I leave NetworkManager
 and NetworkManagerDispatcher running, I get thousands of Rx frag errors
 reported in iwconfig; even though iwconfig reports me as associated, I
 cannot request an IP address from a dhcp server.

 I'd say this is NetworkManager's fault, since when I disable it everything
 else works fine.
